The void HTML <col /> element defines a column within a <table> and is used for defining common semantic on all common cells. It is generally found within a <colgroup> element.


Attribute Value Description
bgcolor color This non-standard attribute defines the background color of each cell in the column. Valid color names or color codes are accepted as the value.
span positive integer This attribute contains a positive integer indicating the number of additional consecutive columns to apply to the attributes of the <col /> element. If not present, its default value is 0.
