The CSS pitch property specifies the average frequency of the speaking voice. Different voice families have different average frequencies (a male voice is approx. 120Hz, a female voice is approx 210Hz).

Values

Value Description
inherit Explicitly sets the value of this property to that of the parent.
x-low User agents should map these values to appropriate frequencies based on the voice family and user environment. This value is a lower frequency than low.
low User agents should map these values to appropriate frequencies based on the voice family and user environment.
medium User agents should map these values to appropriate frequencies based on the voice family and user environment. This is the default value.
high User agents should map these values to appropriate frequencies based on the voice family and user environment.
x-high User agents should map these values to appropriate frequencies based on the voice family and user environment. This value is a higher frequency than high.
<frequency> Positive number indicating average voice pitch measured in Hertz (Hz) or Kilohertz (kHz).
